Privacy Policy
Last Spark: The Bonfire Defense · Effective date: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what information the game Last Spark: The Bonfire Defense ("the game") handles, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who we are
The game is published by Lazarion Studios, the trade name of Stavros Lazaris, an individual developer based in Greece. He is the data controller for the processing described here. Contact: lazaris.dev@gmail.com.
2. No account of its own
The game has no account of its own. You can sign in to Google Play Games for the leaderboards (section 7), but you never have to. We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, location, photos or any other personal information. The only time we see your email address is when you choose to email us (see section 5).
3. Game progress stays on your device
Your progress (Void Souls, Sanctuary upgrades, spells, settings and statistics) is saved only on your device, together with a short log of game events and errors and how smoothly your last runs ran. We do not receive your progress. Unless you turn off Play Statistics, the game's events and errors are also sent to Google Analytics for Firebase (section 6). If Android backup is enabled on your phone, Android may include this data in your personal Google backup so it can be restored on a new device; that backup is handled by Google under your Google account settings.
4. Reminders
If you turn on reminders (Settings → Reminders), the game schedules them on your device for the next few days. They are created and shown by your phone; nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn them off in the game or in your Android notification settings.
5. Reporting a problem
Settings → Help → Report a problem opens your own email app with a message to us. Under your words it lists the game version, your phone model and Android version, the screen size, how smoothly your last runs ran and the last few errors the game noticed. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself, and you can read and change it first. We use it only to answer you and fix the problem, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
6. Play statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To see how the game is played, balance it and fix problems, the game sends game events to Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google Ireland Limited: for example when a run starts and ends, the waves reached, the rewarded ads watched, purchases started and completed, settings such as 2x speed, and errors the game noticed. With them, Google's SDK sends a random app-instance ID (created for this installation of the game and reset when you clear its data or reinstall it), your device model, Android version, language and the game's version, when and for how long you play, and the in-app purchases made through Google Play (product and price). Google derives your approximate location (country or city) from your IP address. The game does not send Analytics your advertising ID, and this data is not used for advertising or to personalise ads. We see only reports in the Firebase console, never your name or email. Google processes this data on our behalf. You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Play Statistics; from then on nothing is sent to Google Analytics.
7. Leaderboards (Google Play Games)
The game has public leaderboards for the Daily Rift, the Weekly Rite and the deepest wave reached, run by Google Play Games Services, a service of Google (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA). They work only when you are signed in to Google Play Games, either already on your phone or from Keeper's Record → Rankings. Then the game sends Google your scores for these boards (the wave you reached and how fast), on the boards of your Sanctuary tier. Google shows each score with your Play Games name and avatar to other players and keeps it with your Play Games profile; the daily and weekly boards start again each day and each week. Scores from runs played while you were signed out wait on your device and are sent when you sign in. The Play Games SDK also sends Google diagnostics and analytics about the service itself. We see the boards as every player does, with Play Games names and scores, never your email. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. In the Play Games app or your Google Account you can choose who sees your Play Games profile, or delete the profile together with its scores.
8. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game offers optional rewarded video ads (for example to revive or to double your Void Souls). Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited in the EEA). To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the game collects and sends to Google information such as:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
- your IP address, from which an approximate location (country or city) may be derived;
- device and app information, crash logs and diagnostics;
- interactions with ads (for example which ads were shown and watched).
We do not receive this information ourselves; we only see aggregated reports from AdMob. Google uses it according to its own policy: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Watching an ad is always your choice. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
9. Your consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent form before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised ads, which use limited data (for example for frequency capping and fraud prevention). You can change your choice at any time in the game: Settings → Privacy → Ad Privacy Choices.
10. In-app purchases (Google Play)
The game offers a few optional purchases: the Ember Pass, which gives every rewarded ad's reward without the ad, and packs of hearth colours. None of them sells Void Souls or power. Purchases are made and paid through Google Play with your Google account; we never see your payment details. The game asks Google Play which of these items your account owns, so a purchase comes back on a new phone, and keeps that list on your device. Google processes purchase information under the Google Privacy Policy, and refunds are handled by Google Play.
11. Legal bases (GDPR)
- Personalised ads: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time as described in section 9.
- Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention: our legitimate interest in funding a free game and keeping ads safe (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Play statistics: our legitimate interest in understanding how the game is played, balancing it and fixing problems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by turning off Play Statistics.
- Leaderboards: performance of the contract with you, to provide the leaderboards you join by signing in to Google Play Games (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Purchases: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Emails you send us: our legitimate interest in answering you and fixing problems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
12. Transfers outside the EEA
Google may process advertising, analytics, leaderboard and purchase data in countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
13. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because the game stores your progress only on your device, you can delete it by uninstalling the game or clearing its data. For data processed by Google, you can also use your Google Account settings. To exercise any right, write to lazaris.dev@gmail.com; we answer within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Greece the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr), or the authority of the EU country where you live.
14. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
15. Security and retention
We do not run servers that store your data. Purchases are recorded by Google Play under your Google account. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer them or fix the problem. Data processed by Google for advertising and analytics is retained according to Google's policies; Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months (its default), and only aggregated reports after that. Leaderboard scores stay with your Play Games profile until you delete them. All data the game sends over the internet is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
16. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
